The HC bill passed in the House, as we all know by now. That's a good thing as Martha would say!
I keep getting this comment from my resident troll lisa. She would like to know how we feel about large fines levied on us, or even jail time if we don't buy health insurance.
First off lisa, we have a long fight ahead of us before President Obama signs the bill. Second, we don't know what the final bill will say about fines and jail time. But I would like to say this, if a person like yourself does not have insurance and something catastrophic happens to you and you need to be hospitalized, then who will pay your bills? What happens today is the hospital will not turn you away but we the taxpayers would have to pay your bills. Does that not make sense for all Americans to carry insurance? With the new bill insurance will be affordable so we all can be covered and can take responsibility for ourselves, not every Tom, Dick and Harry. Isn't that what Repubs want? NOT to have to take care of anyone but themselves? Isn't it unfair for you to get sick and your hospital bills are in the hundreds of thousands and we have to pay them?
It's a new America lisa, take responsibilty for yourself, buy your new affordable insurance policy then you can get as sick as you want and it won't bother us at all because you'll be COVERED!! YAY!
