Dan Coats...Daniel Ray "Dan" Coats (born May 16, 1943) is an American lawyer, politician, lobbyist, and diplomat. A member of the Republican Party, he served as a United States Senator from Indiana from 1989 to 1999. Coats was appointed to fill the seat vacated by Dan Quayle following his election as Vice President of the United States in 1988. He won the 1990 special election to serve the remainder of Quayle's unexpired term, as well as the 1992 election for his own full six-year term. He did not seek re-election in 1998.
Prior to his service in the U.S. Senate, Coats was a member of the United States House of Representatives, representing Indiana's 4th congressional district from 1981 to 1989. After retiring from the Senate Coats served as U.S. Ambassador to Germany from 2001 to 2005.

House of Representatives representing Ohio's 2nd congressional district, which stretches along the Ohio River from the Hamilton County suburbs of Cincinnati east to Scioto County and Pike County. Am I crying in my coffee cup this morning? NO. What happened last night was totally expected. What I don't care to read today is the wingnuts claiming some sort of "the country loves us and not you" victory dance because it just isn't so.
These next 2 years will be interesting to say the least. The GOPers will have to work with the democrats and the president. They will have to PROVE to the voters they made the right choices! Come on GOP show us how we fix the mess you got us into, you wanted the job, now get to work!
